Marketplace Introduction at PWC – The Scale Programme – Investor Event in Berlin 06/2019

myGermany GmbH releases new Marketplace and Sowftare plans at the PWC Scale Program in Berlin
Company presentation infront of international investors

Infront of a more than 100 visors, corporate partners and investors, myGermany GmbH presented the new Marketlace solution myGermany-Store.com. After tripling the turnover was discussed, Sebastian Meier, CMO myGermany, gin into the full and explained the new groundbreaking solution. From 2020, German retailers will be able to present their products on the myGermany-Store.com marketplace platform.

Sales to international end customers have never been so easy: as an international fulfillment service provider, the marketplace/platform/online shop brings German dealers and international end customers together – myGermany market and sell dealers’ products to foreign customers, taking over the entire logistics process including customs clearance, so that neither dealers nor end customers have to fear the hurdles and risks of international shipping.

German (especially small and medium-sized) retailers shy away from the expense and risk of addressing an international market. In particular, much higher shipping and packaging prices, ignorance of customs or export/import laws, warranty processing or returns and specific local marketing approaches pose problems. myGermany-Store.com takes care of these tasks for retailers: on the marketplace, myGermany handles online sales (including translation of the article presentation into English and other languages), communication and logistics on their own. myGermany is the buyer for the dealer and the seller for the end customer. So the dealer does not have to deal with the hurdles of the international sales and shipping processes.

The aim should be to address above all small and medium-sized dealers whose products do not exist abroad.
For international end customers, the platform offers a wide range of German products from a single source at affordable purchase and shipping prices. Another unique feature is consolidation: end customers can have articles from different retailers packaged and shipped in one package. Instead of several expensive parcels, sending one parcel that is delivered quickly and cheaply to your door thanks to their framework agreements with FedEx, DHL, UPS, DPD and GLS.
The concept of parcel forwarding has only existed for about 20 years, coming from the USA. The German market is still a very young market with only 2-3 serious suppliers. The idea is based on the idea of parcel forwarding (pure logistics) and extends it by the eCommerce aspect: international online trade and dispatch from one source.

Target group: small and medium-sized German retailers with simple, inexpensive or exclusive self-made products.
With the knowledge and shipping volume myGermany can offer shipping and customs processes (including the preparation of the necessary export and import certificates) quickly and cheaply. In addition, the high shipping volume enables us to offer packaging and shipping prices (with frame contracts DHL, FedEx, UPS, DPD, GLS etc.) that are simply not possible for individual traders. They advertise the marketplace in English, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Arabic in the social media, via newsletters, internal and external (“influencers”) blog articles and build landing pages for dealers for the SEM search engine marketing – thus they also take over the international marketing for the dealers.

Target group of foreign end customers.
Made-in-Germany is a term for many of the 7 billion people in the world. The Onlineshop offers not only a market place with many so far hardly or not at all available products, but also simple, fast and favorable dispatch options with proven partners such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, DPD, GLS etc.. The marketing happens in the important world languages English, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Arabic. It has never been so easy for the foreign end customer to get products from German dealers at German/affordable prices!

The price of German products depends on the dealer, myGermany calculates a maximum of 5-10% additional cost per sale, there are no monthly fees for dealers.
The shipping depends on weight and destination country, generally can be estimated: to European countries the average is 20-50 EUR, worldwide about 40-150 EUR. This means affordable prices for the average consumer.

myGermany wants to start in the first year acquiring at least 100 dealers and expect a dispatch of approx. 5,000-10,000 packages, which corresponds to an annual turnover of approx. 500,000 to 600,000 EUR. Outside capital must be acquired. myGermany has warehouse, shipping, web technology and marketing knowledge in various languages.
Goal is to reach an annual turnover of 2-3 Mio EUR within 3 years, annually increasing with an increasing / expanding marketing portfolio. The most important criterion will be the establishment of international localized marketing channels – here they are pursuing the goal of a franchise concept that will be established as soon as they have established stable processes.

The new marketplace myGermany-Store.com will be released in 2020.

Company presentation in Pecha-Kutcha style

CMO Sebastian Meier from myGermany GmbH accepted the challenge of the Jena Technology Fight-Night on November 22nd and “fought” against 13 other start-ups for the interest of network partners, institutions, investors and potential customers. This was preceded by a company presentation of the own company during the day, which was transferred into the form of Pecha-Kutcha with the help of the coaches of the Jenaer Art-Kon-Tor. This is a presentation form, with which altogether 15 slides are used, which are faded in in each case for exactly 20 seconds. The presentation took place in the evening in front of an audience of around 150 people, who listened to the lectures with excitement and amusement. In the aftermath of the event, the visitors were able to contact the respective StartUps and talk about potential networks. Even if we did not leave the square as winners of the event, we were able to win many advocates and potential investors for ourselves, Sebastian Meier summed up after the successful event.

Wachstumsaward Gründerszene KPMG 2018 – myGermany GmbH among the TOP 50 companies in Germany – the founding scene receives growth award

myGermany GmbH among the TOP 50 companies in Germany

On November 29, 2018, we were invited by the leading portal of the founder scene in Germany to Berlin as TOP 50 companies for the award of the Growth Award 2018. This was preceded by an application phase in which the sales of the last three years had to be submitted with the confirmation of the tax consultant. Using a specially developed calculation formula consisting of average sales growth (CAGR) and company age, the founding scene and KPMG selected the winners for 2017/2018. myGermany achieved a remarkable 24th place out of more than 300 applications. This is remarkable because almost all higher ranked companies have one, sometimes even two or three financing rounds behind them and have already used the money for scaling. We are very proud to have been invited to this event and look forward to the coming business year with full confidence, summarizes Christian Schmalisch, CEO of myGermany GmbH.

Startport Duisburg invites to Investor Pitch

Startport Duisburg invites to Investor Pitch

November 2018, Startport Duisburg invites to Investor Pitch

Christian Schmalisch and Sebastian Meier explained the all-round package for the handling of shipments of German products abroad to around 100 guests: from packaging and customs formalities to the handling of goods routes abroad. With 11 companies supported by StartPort, myGermany presented its company concept from its foundation in 2012 in the garage until today, and among other things presented its plans for the next five years. In addition to the classic parcel forwarding business, the aim is to set up an online shop where products from selected German retailers are sold to international end customers. International marketing and complete logistics fulfillment including customs clearance will be handled by myGermany. The retailer no longer has to worry about anything. The focus in the next few years will be on service for German dealers. “Our business case has proven itself with over 20,000 international end customers and our infrastructure is up and running. Now is the time to revolutionize the international non-European Cross Border Shopping for German retailers” says Christian Schmalisch, Managing Director at myGermany. A new warehouse and some marketing campaigns on the German market are planned.
At the end of the Event Christian Schmalisch and Sebastian Meier have five discussions with interested investors.

myGermany at the German Online Trading Day 2018

August 2018
Every year at the end of summer, the German online trade sector meets for a network meeting in Berlin. At the invitation of the Bundesverband Onlinehandel e.V., the German online trade association, myGermany GmbH was also represented with its own stand for the first time on 30 August 2018.
CMO Sebastian Meier presented the new live portal of “weltweitversenden.de”, which enables business customers in Germany and Europe to easily supply customers all over the world. In the dealer portal, dimensions and weight can be entered and the system automatically calculates the best shipping conditions to over 220 countries in the world. The customer is relieved of the work of the customs declaration as well as export declaration and myGermany GmbH takes care of the collection of the parcels from the online dealer on site. Foreign shipping has never been easier.
“The event was a great success for our company, because all important network partners and multipliers were on site,” Sebastian Meier summed up in the aftermath of the event. myGermany GmbH plans to visit the event again next year.

Startport Duisburg supports myGermany GmbH 2017-2018

The logistics and StartUpHub Startport has signed a contract with myGermany GmbH for the first time in October 2018. This was preceded by an intensive application phase including a five-minute pitch during which CMO Sebastian Meier was able to convince the local jury of the company’s development opportunities. Startport is an initiative of the economically decisive companies in the Ruhr region and a 100% subsidiary of the Port of Duisburg. The StartUpHub is financially and consultingly supported by well-known major companies such as Klöckner AG and Evonik. As a classic win-win situation, the start-ups included in the programme are intensively supported by the network partners and have the opportunity to develop rapidly. In return, the young companies give established companies the opportunity to enter into strategic alliances in order to cover future business areas and developments. The program is designed to last one year and, in addition to mentoring and training, also promotes start-ups through a local job. “The opportunities for myGermany GmbH to be included in the program are enormous. Not only do we have the opportunity to professionally do justice to the existing growth of our company with the help of our mentors, but investments can scale by a factor of 10,” CMO Sebastian Meier summarized.

Second Warehouse & New High Racks

Second Warehouse & New High Racks

In January 2018 myGermany decided to build up a second warehouse, which is directly linked to the existing facility. Several new high racks were set up, so the same logistic management infrastructure and software can be used as in the existing facility.

“We process each week more and more packages, between 200 and 400 per day!” is Lutz Winning, Head of Warehouse, stating the subsequently increasing package and freight requests. After myGermany moved into a larger warehouse beginning 2017, soon the “old” warehouse became too small and new scope was needed. Thus, myGermany searched for new options and luckily was able to rent one attached building. The myGermany warehouses in Weimar are now 2000 sqm.

Thanks to our staff and our family members 10 new nigh racks could be built up in a dawn raid.

With the second facility, myGermany prepares the logistic processes for the launch of the new marketplace myGermany-Store.com, which shall be live end of 2018. Check more details here.
