Anyone who wants to send auction goods and is researching the topic of “shipping valuables” will inevitably come across the terms “class 1 securities” and “class 2 securities” in the terms and conditions of most parcel services. It means the following:
Class 1 valuables – are personalized valuables such as personalized boarding passes, airline tickets or savings books. They can be blocked if lost. The same applies to valuables such as computers, tablets or smartphones: these can also be blocked from unauthorized access.Type 2 valuables – this refers to valuables that are not of a personal nature (and therefore cannot be blocked if lost), such as: B. Antiques, collections, jewelry, works of art, etc.

We organize the shipping of Class 1 and Class 2 securities without any size requirements and receive amounts in the five-figure range. Why is it special? Parcel services usually set a relatively low upper value limit for class 2 valuables. If this upper limit is exceeded, parcel services decline liability for loss as this is a violation of the terms and conditions.

Painting Packing

If you want to send a painting, you have to pack it properly beforehand – and that takes time, because a few layers of bubble wrap are not enough. Especially with framed paintings, it is also important to protect the corners of the frame (e.g. with special corner protectors). In addition, paintings should always be packed in several layers.



Transport wine correctly

When transporting e.g. wine bottles, broken glass is not the only danger to the wine. For example, did you know that bottles with corks can “open” if you poke or shake them along the length of the bottle? The accelerated mass of the wine poured into the bottle pushes the cork out of the bottle. It is therefore advisable to store wine bottles at right angles to the direction of travel when transporting them in the vehicle, so that it is safe.

Be aware of temperature and climate in the transport vehicle

The climate in the transport vehicle is an aspect that should not be neglected when transporting auction house goods. In particular, a very high internal temperature can cause picture frames to warp or, for example, valuable wine to “tip over”. Humidity that is too high is also bad – canvas paintings, for example, can be damaged as a result. Vehicles in which household goods are transported should therefore be air-conditioned (including in the cargo area).

Although some auction houses in Germany now offer their own delivery service, the collection or delivery of the auction goods is usually the responsibility of the customer. This means: As a buyer, you must collect the goods yourself or arrange for collection via a collection/delivery service. If you select us, you don’t have to worry about proper packaging.
You can also be sure that you will receive compensation in the event of damage.

If you want to auction expensive goods, you should always take precautions if the goods do not arrive at their destination in their original condition. For example, imagine that you have purchased a rare porcelain service at an auction that is of great value as a whole. If even a single glass of it breaks during transport, the physical damage may not be too great – but the financial damage can be enormous due to the reduction in value. This is where the myGermany comes into the game: It covers a reduction in value due to partial damage of up to 100 percent of the value of the goods. You can get packages sent to myGermany warehouse when you shop in Germany. Therefore you need to enter our address in the CheckOut (please register here >>). How are Shipping Rates Determined for package forwarding?

Our shipping rate is composed of the cost of shipping service provider and our margin. So it already includes packing, customs paper/shipping paper preparation, outgoing and incoming customs clearance and delivery to the customer. It also covers all of our costs.

The costs of our shipping partners are based on zones (countries) – the further away from Germany and heavier the shipment, the more expensive the shipping.


Do you Repack? Can I Consolidate Multiple Packages into one shipment for cost savings?

Yes, we repack and consolidate for free. We use our own strong packaging material and 2-wavy cardboards.

From customer destination to myGermany / original seller: Customers may also return shipments from their country to myGermany or to the original seller. The costs are to be taken by the customer, but we will fully support the process and communication with seller.
